JARRID'S Team rides on…

Jarrid Rich is still with his team in spirit. His unwavering passion for finding a cure for orphan cancers has continued to inspire JARRID’s Team to carry the gauntlet, raise funds, and participate in the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer. All proceeds of the ride go to support the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

Jarrid was a WARRIOR and HERO in his personal fight against this hideous disease, and Together, We Pay it Forward to help others. During 2011 and 2012, the two years that Jarrid led his team in the Ride, they raised over $60,000 for cancer research. After Jarrid's passing on March 7, 2013, his team rose to the 2013 Ride's challenge and raised close to $30,000 for the cure. For the 2014 Ride, JARRID’s Team has again raised over $30,000. In 2015, JARRID’s Team exceeded their fundraising goal and raised close to $21,000.

We are the faces of cancer, as everyone either has been or will be affected in some way by this horrible disease. We know someone who has or had cancer - a loved one, a relative, a friend, a co-worker, a friend of a friend. Cancer touches us all.

JARRID’s Team will ride again in the 2016 Ride, fulfilling Jarrid's mission in Together We Pay it Forward, and will continue to ride until cancer is no more.

2023 / July 22 & 23 … JARRID's Team contributed to the overall fundraising of $5.6M for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

The 2023 Ride was hosted at the Strathmore Stampede Grounds with over 1,200 cyclists departing from that location for the 200-kilometer journey.

JARRID's Team raised $22,236 and are very grateful to all donors who supported the team's fundraising success. Team Captain, Frank Symons, acknowledges every member of the team for their commitment and dedication as Together We "Pay It Forward" in working on finding a cure for cancer!

Remarkably, the 2022 Ride was able to proceed with an in-person event. This year, the Ride was hosted by the Calgary Polo Club with close to 900 cyclists departing from that location.

2021 / August 28… JARRID’s Team contributed to the overall fundraising of $1.9M for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

Once again, the 2021 in-person Ride was affected due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As last year, the Ride was held in a virtual format. The Ride experienced a participation of over 800 cyclists and raised a total of $1.9M benefiting the Alberta Cancer Foundation. Regardless of any obstacles, the Ride's sponsors, organizers, cyclists, donors, and supporters remained steadfast in their goal to beat the disease of cancer.

2020 / August 29 … JARRID’s Team contributed to the overall fundraising of $1.9M for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

The 2020 in-person Ride was impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In spite of this challenge, the Ride pivoted to a virtual format with the fundraising period extended to October 31, 2020. A total of 902 cyclists participated in the virtual Ride and raised a total of $1.9M benefiting the Alberta Cancer Foundation. This proves the resiliency of all Riders, donors, and supporters in their commitment to beat this disease.

2019 / August 17 & 18 ... JARRID's Team contributed to the overall fundraising of $5.9M for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

A total of 1,255 cyclists departed from the Shane Homes YMCA, Calgary, Alberta at 7:00 am MST as scheduled.

2018 / August 18 & 19… JARRID’s Team contributed $41,450 to the overall fundraising of $8.12M for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

All 1,803 cyclists departed Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta at 7:00 am MST as scheduled. The cyclists were en route to Sundre, Alberta when the smoke from the B.C. wildfires became increasingly worse. Ride officials decided to stop the ride at 11:00 a.m. MST for the safety and health of all cyclists and arranged transportation for all cyclists and their bikes back to Calgary. Even though the Ride was not completed by the cyclists, this year's fundraising was an impressive $8.12 million, the largest amount in the Alberta Ride's history. Equally impressive is JARRID’s Team fundraising that was $41,450, an increase of 7% from last year, the team also placed 4th in total donations raised and second place in average donations raised per rider. This is an outstanding accomplishment!!

2017 / August 12 & 13... JARRID’s Team contributed $38,870 to the overall fundraising of $6.7M for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
